Chinese New Year Marathon

Chinese New Year is the biggest holiday in Taiwan, where I was born.  As the years have gone by, it has become less and less of a celebration for my family here in the U.S.  This year we were all together and enjoyed a few fun traditions and I know, more than ever, I need to keep these alive.

None of us knew the rules to this dice game but for my mom.  So we were all at her mercy as to what we won when we rolled the dice.  A lot of shouting ensued.

Joss Paper (or money) to burn and send up to our ancestors.

The favorite part of the night... red envelopes containing money for the new year!
